It may be winter outside but it’s definitely Summer in the showrooms.  It’s always a little crazy for stylists to work with reversed seasons. Even though it might be -20 C outside, we are on the search for the best swim suits, skirts, dresses and light tank tops. For the hot season of 2012, prints are definitely going to be very popular; tribal, animal, flowers and more…  Femininity is definitely going to be very present. It’s very pleasant to have a season filled with so many colors; photo shoots are much more colourful and it allows us to imagine what the streets are going to look like in the next couple of months.

I must admit that my weakness this year is flowers, flowers and more flowers.  It’s been a lot of fun for me to put together outfits with different types of floral prints.  The summer 2012 flower will be retro but also mixing in romance with a modern flare.  A floral blazer will be worn with a tank and pair of shorts, all demonstrating different floral prints.  We’re even going to add on floral accessories!  There will be flowers everywhere; necklaces, bracelets, hand bags and even shoes have been invaded! The floral prints will be seen in the fabric itself or as embroideries (as seen in Louis Vuitton).

Anyhow, let your hair flow in the wind and take out your special perfume, because this summer, the air will be filled with romance.
